For some businesses, we carry out additional checks before or during the relationship. If that applies to you, we'll reach out and request a few of the documents below. This is a standard compliance step and doesn't mean anything is wrong.
Source of funds
We may ask you to show where your funds come from. Depending on your country and business, acceptable documents include:
Financial statements
A CPA-certified declaration letter
Written confirmation from a qualified accountant or lawyer
Records of shareholder capital contributions
Documents for the underlying transactions or activity that generate your funds
Financial institutions incorporated in Argentina must evidence source of funds specifically with financial statements (estados financieros).
Additional requirements for certain markets
If you onboard an entity in Argentina, Colombia, or Hong Kong, a few extra items may apply beyond the standard documents, depending on your business and risk profile. Your account executive will tell you if any of these are needed.
Argentina: face verification for the legal representative; a sworn declaration of no PEP status, no illicit funds, and no criminal record from all board members and UBOs; proof of economic capacity, such as tax declarations, audited financial statements, or a CPA's certificate of income; and ownership disclosure down to 10 percent.
Colombia: face verification for the legal representative; a sworn declaration of no PEP status, no illicit funds, and no criminal record from all board members and UBOs; and proof of economic capacity, such as tax declarations, audited financial statements, or a CPA's certificate of income.
Hong Kong: face verification for both the ultimate beneficial owner and the legal representative; and proof of economic capacity, such as tax declarations, audited financial statements, or a CPA's certificate of income.

How we verify
We may confirm details through publicly available information, a phone call, or in some cases an on-site visit. We'll always tell you what we need and why.
Responding promptly keeps your account active. If we don't hear back within the requested window, we may need to pause or close the relationship.
