To open a VelaFi business account, we verify your company, the people who own and control it, and your line of business. Having everything ready upfront makes onboarding fast.
How it works
Onboarding is a single online form. The form shows only the requirements relevant to you — based on your country and what you do — so you won't be asked for things that don't apply. You can save your progress and return anytime, and if our team flags something, you can edit and resubmit directly. Once everything's in, we review and activate your account.
1. Your company
- Full legal name (and any trading names)
- Business type & industry
- Country of registration & registration number
- Registered address (and principal place of business, if different)
- Date of incorporation
- Business description
- Tax ID
- Business contact email
Supporting documents
- Certificate of incorporation (or local equivalent, e.g. NNC1 in Hong Kong)
- Shareholder register / ownership chart
- Register of directors (e.g. NAR1 in Hong Kong)
- Articles of association (if available)
2. Controlling representative
The person authorized to act on behalf of the company:
- Full name & nationality
- ID or passport number, with expiry date
- Date of birth
- Copy of ID or passport
3. Beneficial owners
Any individual who owns or controls more than 25% of the company. Some countries use lower thresholds: 5% in Colombia, and 10% in Argentina and Peru (these also apply if you're requesting operational access there).
- Full name & nationality
- ID or passport number, with expiry date
- Date of birth
- Residential address
- Copy of ID or passport
- Proof of ownership / shareholding
Two things to check: your company name should match exactly across all documents, and your registered business scope should match what you actually do.
4. Industry-specific documents
Depending on your business, we'll also ask for:

5. Licensed industries (financial services & gambling)
If you operate in a regulated industry, please also provide:
- Your valid license or registration
- A list of all your apps, with links to their terms of service
- Your AML / PLD manual and supporting evidence (e.g. screenshots)
